Seattle anti-paid sick days spokesperson: Small businesses aren’t “real”

At Tuesday’s Seattle Chamber of Commerce* paid sick days forum, Cupcake Royale and Verite Coffee owner Jody Hall was asked several questions about the proposed paid sick days ordinance and small businesses.

That seems to have gotten under the skin of spokesperson David Black, a corporate HR attorney heading up the anti-paid sick days campaign, who later took the mic to say that small businesses like Jody’s aren’t “real”:

You can urge the Seattle City Council to ignore the corporate attorneys and vote for paid sick days here.

*Update 7/29: The forum was also co-sponsored by the Seattle Coalition for a Healthy Workforce, Greater Seattle Business Association, neighborhood chambers and other community groups.

*Update 8/8: You can see the entire forum on the Seattle Channel’s website.
